If United don’t sign Pogba they could move for one of these six targets

first_imgPaul Pogba could be a tad pricey for Man United. If this is the case, talkSPORT has looked at a number of quality alternatives for new manager Jose Mourinho to consider (he’s probably forwarding this link to Ed Woodward as we speak).Real Madrid have also shown an interest in the Juventus midfielder, who swapped Manchester for Turin in 2012. If the European champions decide they do want Pogba, then United will have to look for an alternative anyway.Click the arrow above, right, to see the possible candidates. France and PSG’s Blaise Matuidi – New Man United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly wants the club to pay whatever is necessary to land Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. United have previously been linked with a £79m deal for Verratti, whose contract still has four years left to run. 6 Real Madrid and Germany midfielder Toni Kroos – Kroos has previously been linked with United and more recently Man City. He is renowned for his playmaking skills and pinpoint passing and created nine goals in La Liga last season. 6 6 Porto’s Ruben Neves to provide the midfield steel for United? – Not quite the marquee name of some of the other players on this list, but the 18-year-old is definitely one for the future by all accounts. His intelligent play and positioning affords him vital extra seconds on the ball and he seems destined to fulfil a holding role in one of the big teams’ midfield.
