Watch Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper’s Hot And Heavy Performance Of “Shallow” At The Oscars

first_imgOn Sunday night, Hollywood celebrated its biggest night of the year at the 91st Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles. The evening featured a number of notable storylines, from Spike Lee nabbing his first-ever Oscar for “Best Adapted Screenplay” (BlacKkKlansman) to Bohemian Rhapsody taking home four awards including a “Best Actor in a Leading Role” statue for Rami Malek‘s portrayal of Queen‘s embattled frontman, Freddie Mercury. However, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper‘s duet performance of “Shallow”, the hit song from their multiple Oscar-nominated film, A Star Is Born, was what set the Internet ablaze during the ceremony. In the film, the song serves as a significant plot point in the love story between Cooper and Gaga’s respective characters, a musical representation of new yet star-crossed love. It was clear from their Oscar performance that the chemistry between the two is still as strong as ever. The sexual and emotional tension was palpable—particularly when Cooper made his way to Gaga’s piano bench to help sing the song’s final refrain. They didn’t quite make out onstage, but they may as well have.Related: Lady Gaga And Bradley Cooper Perform “Shallow” During Surprise Live Debut In Las Vegas [Watch]Whether it was the song itself, the chemistry between the two performers, or some combination of the two, the powerful ballad made a strong impression on more than just the viewers in theaters and at home. “Shallow” wound up taking home “Best Original Song” honors later in the evening.
