IPL 2019: MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and CSK spinners hammer Delhi Capitals

Both teams had already qualified for the 2019 Indian Premier League playoffs.Chasing 180, Delhi Capitals lost Prithvi Shaw to Deepak Chahar in the first over of the chase. Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer gave DC some hope with a strong 2nd wicket partnership but when Harbhajan Singh snared Dhawan for 19 in the 6th over, it triggered a collapse for DC.In the 7th over, the big-hitting Rishabh Pant was outfoxed by the wily Imran Tahir before Ravindra Jadeja got rid of Colin Ingram. At 80 for 5 in the 10-over mark, DC still had a glimmer of hope because Shreyas Iyer was i the middle with Axar Patel a few hard-hitting all-rounders to follow.However, Tahir derailed the DC chase with 2 wickets in his 3rd over and then Jadeja picked another 2 in his 3rd over including that of Shreyas Iyer to leave Delhi Capitals in tatters.Earlier in the evening, Delhi Capitals had won the toss and decided to bowl. Debutnat Jagadeesha Suchith dismissed Shane Watson for a duck and it was slow going for Chennai Super Kings. They reached 53 for 1 off 10 overs but Suresh Raina’s aggressive fifty and some lusty blows from Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni at the end helped CSK reach 179 for 4 off 20 overs.Chennai Super Kings collected 126 runs off the last 10 overs thanks to MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja who had missed the game against Mumbai Indians on April 26.advertisementCSK had lost that match by 46 runs and it was obvious the team missed MS Dhoni’s presence as batsman and captain.
