Scocco seals Sunderland switch

first_imgArgentina international striker Ignacio Scocco has completed his move to Sunderland. Scocco was in the stands at the Stadium of Light last night as the Black Cats beat Stoke 1-0 to climb out of the Barclays Premier League relegation zone. Poyet hopes to strike a further deal before Friday night’s 11pm deadline with Brighton midfielder Liam Bridcutt understood to be heading for Wearside to undergo a medical after the two clubs agreed a fee in the region of £2.5million. The 28-year-old, who has one cap, has joined the club from Internacional for an undisclosed fee and has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal. He becomes Gus Poyet’s fourth acquisition this month following Spanish full-back Marcos Alonso’s arrival on loan and the captures of Scocco’s compatriots Oscar Ustari and Santiago Vergini. center_img Press Associationlast_img
